Experience
Phil Modie has more than 30 years of experience as an accountant and advisor to the automotive industry. He has consulted with dealers concerning many complex business issues, such as: dealership acquisition negotiations, financing, internal control evaluations, consolidation and relocation strategies, compliance work, estate and tax planning, IRS audit issues, and expert witness testimony.
Phil is licensed in Ohio and Florida and he regularly attends national automotive group meetings and workshops, Phil has conducted seminars and training for automotive controllers, and presented automotive related seminars to the Financial Services industry and Auto Dealer Associations. Phil has testified in court relative to dealership financial records, and provided expert testimony relative to an auto dealership’s lost profits; acted as a consultant in an auto dealership shareholder dispute. In addition, Phil has prepared compensation studies, performed due diligence relative to mergers and acquisitions and prepared complex analysis for lifo and unicap tax issues. The many dealerships served vary in size ranging from sales of two million to over a billion.
